Getting around

Although it is a capital city, Ljubljana is relatively small, particularly in comparison to other European capitals. However this has its advantages for tourists and business travellers alike – getting around Ljubljana is easy, quick and fun. It is entirely up to you what means of transport you prefer and choose.

Bicycle:

Cycling is a fun, efficient and easy way of getting around. Ahotel offers bicycles to rent at a reasonable price.

On foot:

There are plenty of ways to explore the city, but on foot you will discover small treasures, hidden corners and much more that you would not see otherwise. Ljubljana is small enough to be easily manageable on foot.

Ask at reception for free travel maps, guides, inspirational itineraries and much more useful information to help you plan your visit to Ljubljana.

Taxi:

Taxis are a really convenient way to travel around, as your driver will take you directly to your destination. When checking in at Ahotel, each guest receives a phone number of Ahotel’s partner taxi service, offering special discounted rates. Driving from Ahotel to Ljubljana city centre takes only three to five minutes and costs 6 EUR for up to 4 people.

City bus:

Travelling by bus is simple, practical and affordable. The bus stop for the No 9 bus, which takes you directly to the city centre, is only a short walk from Ahotel (approx. 600 metres).

Car:

Slovenia is such a picturesque and diverse country that it is worth spending some time getting to know it. Hiring a car is a great way to travel around Slovenia at your own pace.

All information on how to hire a car and any other information concerning travelling by car is available at the reception desk.
